Made to put a silly smile on your face, this waddly little lotad was hand-painted in brightly colored underglazes on a handmade ceramic bowl. The shape of this bowl is perfectly rounded in a way that is satisfying to hold in your hands, no matter what you decide to put in it.
This piece has been through a lot to get to this stage - it started out as a lump of clay that was thrown and trimmed on the potter's wheel, hand painted, glazed with a cheery yellow on the outside and sealed with a satiny clear glaze on the inside, and finally high fired to 2230°F.
Little notches are carved into the foot ring to let water totally drain out during drying.. and to give this piece a little something extra ✨
